100% Carbon Negative
We all must do our part to mitigate the climate change crisis. The cost of inaction is too great to ignore. Brentwood Home is proud to be Climate Neutral Certified and a carbon negative company. That means we measure and reduce our footprint and offset more than all our scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions. We do so by funding verified projects through the Bonneville Environmental Foundation that effectively remove carbon from the atmosphere. We have been Climate Neutral Certified® since 2020 and are one of the only mattress and bedding brands to achieve this new standard.
Reducing Our Emissions
The most important thing we can do is reduce the emissions we produce in the first place. We do so by making our mattresses locally in Los Angeles. Most mattress companies make their products in Asia, producing significant emissions from transporting them overseas. Brentwood Home also uses innovative, natural, organic, and recycled materials that have a smaller footprint than synthetic alternatives. By harnessing upcycled denim scraps and REPREVE® — a polyester performance fabric made from recycled plastic bottles — we’re able to innovatively harness waste to create our luxurious products rather than produce new materials. This effort limits the carbon footprint of the company by reducing energy and resource use.
Offsetting All Scope 1, 2, and 3 Emissions
We don’t just offset the emissions produced from shipping our products. We calculate all of our scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions — that's the full carbon footprint that our business activity generates, from resource extraction to finished product delivery. Then we actually offset more than that total amount, effectively making our entire business carbon negative.
How You Can Help: Sleep for Change
Brentwood Home is committed to annually measuring its footprint and finding new ways to reduce our carbon emissions. You can help by supporting companies, like Brentwood Home, that support climate change mitigation, voting for legislators that fight to protect our climate, and by reducing your own carbon footprint.
